119th Birth Anniversary of Sher-e-Kashmir Sheikh Mohd Abdullah celebrated in Udhampur

NC Govt headed by CM Omar committed to protect land, job rights of J&K people: Sunil Verma

Udhampur:-TDD,The 119th Birth Anniversary of Sher-e-Kashmir Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah, Founder of J&K National Conference, was celebrated with great zeal and passion at Shaheed Bhagat Singh Park, Gol Market, Udhampur. The event was marked by the presence of prominent political figures, local leaders, and party workers, paying tribute to the legacy of the iconic leader.
The celebration was graced by Sunil Verma, District President of Jammu and Kashmir National Conference (NC), Udhampur.
In his address, the senior NC leader Sunil Verma highlighted the immense contributions of Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah to the political, social, and economic upliftment of the people of Jammu and Kashmir. He said, “Sheikh Sahib was a beacon of hope for the marginalized and underprivileged. His vision and struggle for the rights of the people of Jammu and Kashmir continue to inspire generations. On this momentous day, we pay our heartfelt tribute to the Sher-e-Kashmir who dedicated his life to the welfare of the people.”
Sunil Verma further reiterated the importance of unity and solidarity in continuing the legacy of Sheikh Abdullah’s vision. “We must stand together to protect the rights and interests of the people of Jammu and Kashmir. Sheikh Sahib’s legacy of inclusive development, secularism, and peace must guide our efforts towards a prosperous future,” he added.

The senior NC leader also emphasized that the present National Conference government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, is committed to continuing the vision of Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah for the progress and welfare of the people of Jammu and Kashmir. He asserted the Omar led Govt will protect the land and jobs rights of Jammu and Kashmir people.
“The NC government headed by Omar Abdullah is committed to the empowerment of the people of Jammu and Kashmir, bringing about crucial reforms in governance, development, and social welfare,” he added.

The occasion was also marked by the laying of floral tributes at the statue of Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah at the park, followed by prayers and a symbolic ceremony. Local leaders and workers from various sections of society came together, celebrating the ideals of the legendary leader with songs and speeches that reflected his timeless commitment to justice and equality.
