4 Youth, Including 2 Councillors, Sent to Police Custody in Leh Violence Case After Court Surrender

Leh: DD, Four individuals, including two elected councillors, have been remanded to police custody in connection with the recent violence in Leh.

Official sources said that the accused presented themselves before the court, following which they were taken into custody.

The four include Councillors Stanzin Tsepag and Smanla Dorjee Norboo, both of whom had been named in an FIR related to the incident, they said.

“All four individuals surrendered voluntarily and maintained that they are innocent,” the sources said, adding that despite their claims, they have been formally arrested as per the ongoing investigation.

Further legal proceedings are underway, officials added. (KNC)
