CASO Launched in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kathua after intelligence inputs on terrorist Presence

Diplomat Desk

Kathua :DD- Security forces launched a Cordon and Search Operation (CASO) in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kathua district on Friday following intelligence reports indicating the presence of terrorist in the Billawar area.
The operation, involving the Army, Jammu and Kashmir Police, and the CRPF, has resulted in a strict cordon of the area as forces conduct thorough searches. This comes amidst intensified counter-terrorism efforts in the region, aimed at dismantling terror networks.
Local residents have been advised to stay indoors and cooperate with authorities. Lt Governor Manoj Sinha has been closely monitoring the situation and directing security forces to take decisive action.
Recent terrorist attacks, following the successful and peaceful conduct of elections in J&K, have been attributed to frustration among terror handlers operating from Pakistan. Intelligence reports suggest that militants have been instructed to intensify their activities, leading to heightened vigilance along the border and LoC. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh has strongly condemned Pakistan’s support for terrorism, demanding the dismantling of terror camps and launch pads in PoK.DD
