Srinagar, (DD): Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Choudhary, accompanied by Chief Minister’s Advisor Nasir Sogami and Health Minister Sakina Itoo, is heading to Budhal in Rajouri district to address a health crisis triggered by a mysterious illness that has claimed 16 lives.
Budhal, a remote and picturesque region in Rajouri, struggles with inadequate healthcare facilities and challenging terrain, making timely medical intervention difficult. The outbreak has heightened concerns, prompting senior officials to visit the area for an on-ground assessment.
Sharing updates on social media, Choudhary wrote, “On directions of Honorable Chief Minister, flying to Budhal to review the situation and meet families of victims along with @nasirsogami ji and Madam Sakeen Itoo ji. Stuck at airport from last 1 hour; flying conditions are not suitable, waiting for clearance.”
The delegation aims to meet affected families, evaluate healthcare responses, and work with medical experts to identify the cause of the illness. The visit also highlights the need to improve healthcare access in remote areas, with officials likely to discuss long-term measures to prevent similar crises. (DD)
