Kishtwar ,DD,The Agriculture Department of Kishtwar commenced seven days training programme of Officers/Officials on “scientific beekeeping” under National Beekeeping & Honey Mission (NBHM) today on 22-01-2025 on the directions of Arvinder Singh Reen, Director Agriculture Jammu and under the supervision of District Development Commissioner Kishtwar
The training program was started under the chairmanship of Amjad Hussain Malik, Chief Agriculture Officer Kishtwar and witnessed the participation of more than 40 KUs and Officers/Officials of the Agriculture dept. During inaugural session, Chief Agriculture Officer Kishtwar gave directions to the field functionaries to implement various schemes related to Bee Keeping like HADP for upliftment of income level of farming community and increase of production of honey at commercial level.
On the first day, the lectures on the importance of Scientific Bee keeping and Apiary management, Role of honey bees in pollination of crops, basics about Honey bees were delivered.
The programme was attended by DAO Kishtwar, SMS-DL Kishtwar, SDAO Marwah & Paddar beside AEOs, JAEOs and other field functionaries of the Agriculture Department.DD
