Thief arrested, stolen jewellery recovered by Jammu police at Akhnoor

Jammu: Police today claimed to have arrested a thief and recovered stolen gold ornaments on hi disclosure in Akhnoor.
Police said that on 15.09.2024, a complaint was received by police station Akhnoor from Gourav Gupta, son of Sanjay Gupta, resident of Ward Number – 7 in Akhnoor, Jammu district regarding theft of golden chain.
On this information, a case FIR Number 166 of 2024 under section 303(2) BNS has been registered and investigation started.
During the investigation, the police party of the police station Akhnoor analysed CCTV Footage minutely, based on the information gathered on human intelligence and technical support police party of this police station did hectic efforts and with timely human intervention rounded up suspects.
During questioning one suspect namely Ashok Kumar, son of Thoru Ram, resident of Ghar Majoor Chowki Choura, confessed about his involvement in above said case and on his disclosure stolen Golden chain weight approx 15 grams recovered from his residence by Police party headed by SHO Akhnoor.
Further investigation of the case is going on. TDD
