KISHTWAR : DD,On the occasion of the 76th Republic Day, Dr. Nazir Hussain, Medical Officer of Health Block Kishtwar, was honored for his exemplary dedication and contributions to public health and community service.

From combating the COVID-19 pandemic to spearheading vaccination campaigns, Dr. Hussain has played a pivotal role in safeguarding public health. His leadership during COVID-19 vaccination drives ensured that even the most remote areas of Kishtwar received life-saving immunizations. Additionally, his involvement in campaigns like the MR vaccination drive and the arrangement of medical camps during national observances has made healthcare more accessible to underserved communities.
Dr. Nazir’s contributions go beyond healthcare. He has been actively involved in district administration initiatives, including programs like Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan (Drug-Free India Campaign), Anaemia Mukt Bharat Abhiyan (Anaemia-Free India), and Beti Bachao Beti Padhao (Save the Girl Child, Educate the Girl Child). Whether it is raising awareness during National and International Day celebrations or conducting health camps, Dr. Nazir’s efforts have had a far-reaching impact.
In the realm of social welfare, Dr. Nazir has collaborated with the Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) department, particularly in campaigns such as Poshan Maah and Poshan Bhi, Padhai Bhi. By educating and empowering Anganwadi Workers (AWWs), he has strengthened grassroots health and nutrition initiatives.
Dr. Nazir’s achievements have been recognized on multiple occasions. In June 2024, during the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking program held at the Government Degree College auditorium in Kishtwar, he was lauded for his contributions to raising awareness and supporting anti-drug initiatives.
His involvement in cultural activities further highlights his multifaceted contributions. During the release of the music album “Tum Ko Dekha To” by Kishtwar’s renowned singer and gold medalist Simridi Sen, Dr. Nazir was honored by the Sugam Sangeet Music Band for his support and dedication to community initiatives.
