Srinagar, (TDD):  Responding to the assertions of  Union Home Minister Amit Shah that no power on earth can bring back Article 370, National Conference vice president Tuesday said that nothing is impossible as to who knows if a seven-member bench of Supreme Court would “announce restoration of Article 370 tomorrow”.

“It was the four-member bench of judges in the Supreme Court who announced the verdict on Article 370 revocation. Tomorrow, who knows if there would be a seven-member bench of judges in the SC who would announce their verdict on the restoration of Article 370,” Omar told reporters on the side-lines of a political rally in Budgam. In Jammu, Union Home Minister yesterday, claimed that no power can bring back Article 370.

He said the SC judges and those who favoured Article 370 in the Parliament were humans. “So, it is not the God’s word that can’t be changed. We are hopeful to get it (Article 370 back,” he said. “When BJP was having only two MPs in the parliament at the time of Rajiv Gandhi, situation was something else. Nothing is permanent in politics.”

Omar also said BJP was responsible for the growing terrorism in Jammu region. “We are out of power for the last ten years. And J&K is under direct rule of the Centre for the last six years. Whatever is happening in Jammu, who is responsible for that?” he asked. “Security forces are being targeted. Officers are getting killed. In Reasi, pilgrims were attacked who is responsible for this all?”

The Home Minister yesterday while addressing three back to back rallies in Jammu region south peoples’ vote whether they want to see Article 370 back in J&K with people responding with big “No.” He said if Article 370 comes back, separatism, terrorism, stone pelting, shutdowns, closure of business houses will return as well.
