Diplomat Desk

Ramban, DD: In line with the directives of the Deputy Chief Minister during his visit to Sana Panchayat, the Labour Department, under the leadership of Assistant Labour Commissioner Ramban, Amit Kumar, organized an awareness and registration camp at GHSS Sanasar. The camp covered labourers from Panchayats Sana, Upper Sanasar, and Lower Sanasar, with around 150 workers participating.
To streamline the registration process on the JKBOCWWB portal, the Labour Department is working closely with Common Service Centres (CSCs) across the district. During the camp, ALC Amit Kumar briefed workers on key labour laws, including the Payment of Wages Act, Workmen Compensation Act, Child Labour Act, Maternity Benefit Act, Contract Labour Act, and Payment of Gratuity Act. He also highlighted the welfare schemes of the J&K Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board (JKBOCWWB).
The workers were encouraged to register on the JK Samadhan App, a dedicated grievance redressal portal, and spread awareness about PM-Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana, being implemented by JPDCL under the directions of Deputy Commissioner Ramban, Baseer-Ul-Haq Chaudhary. A helpline number (9419192398) was shared for further assistance.
The ALC also informed the workers about E-Shram, Mission Youth schemes like Mumkin and Tejaswini, the ESI scheme, and the Mission YUVA Survey. Project Manager Kuldeep Singh from the District Industries & Commerce Department provided details on PMEGP and PM Vishwakarma Schemes, and a PM Vishwakarma Training Completion Certificate was distributed.
During the camp, 30 on-the-spot registrations were done on the JK Samadhan App, facilitated by CSC VLE deputed by District Manager CSC, Nawaz. Additionally, 15 labour card renewals and 5 new registrations were approved, with new labour cards distributed. Information brochures on various Labour, Employment, and Industries Department schemes were also distributed.
The Labour Inspector elaborated on JKBOCWWB schemes and stressed the importance of digital literacy, as all Labour Department services are now provided online. On-spot grievance redressal was carried out, addressing worker queries.DD
