Baramulla,(DD)A joint search operation launched by the Indian Army and Jammu and Kashmir Police in the Angan Pathri area of Rampur, Baramulla, has resulted in the discovery of a significant arms cache, marking a major success in the ongoing security operations in the region.
The operation, initiated based on specific intelligence inputs, led to the busting of a hideout where security forces recovered three AK rifles, 11 AK magazines, nine UBGL grenades, two hand grenades, and other war-like stores. The recovery has raised concerns about the presence of militant activity in the area.
In a statement, the Army confirmed that the investigation is currently underway, with further inquiries being carried out by the Jammu and Kashmir Police. Authorities are working to ascertain the source of the arms and their intended use.
The joint operation highlights the collaboration between the Indian Army and local police forces in maintaining security and countering insurgent threats in Jammu and Kashmir. This latest success adds to the ongoing efforts to neutralise militancy and ensure peace in the region.
