Kishtwar, DD, In a proactive move aimed at reducing road accidents in the Kishtwar district, the ARTO Kishtwar, Mr. Tasleem Wani JKAS, launched a pioneering initiative by constituting a District Road Safety Volunteers Team. This initiative is in line with the directions provided by the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kishtwar, Rajesh Kumar Shavan JKAS,to minimize road accidents and ensure road safety measures across the district.
A group of over 50 enthusiastic youth from various blocks of Kishtwar has already registered to be part of this impactful team. During a virtual meeting with the volunteers, ARTO Kishtwar sought their support in spreading mass awareness regarding road safety measures, traffic rules, and the importance of reporting traffic violations. Volunteers have been encouraged to inform the concerned authorities about any violations occurring in their localities, enabling prompt action to safeguard public lives.
The meeting also facilitated a feedback session where volunteers provided valuable suggestions and inputs to enhance the initiative. ARTO Kishtwar emphasized that the core objective of this team is to engage the youth in road safety initiatives and to work collectively towards reducing road accidents in the district.
Additionally, the volunteers will undergo proper training through the SDRF (State Disaster Response Force) to ensure they are equipped with the necessary skills for conducting rescues at accident sites.
This initiative by ARTO Kishtwar marks a significant step towards building a safer road environment in Kishtwar and encourages the active participation of the community in road safety efforts.DD
