GDC Kishtwar, 7 Assam Rifles Organize ‘Join Indian Army’ Awareness Program

Kishtwar,DD, The NCC unit of Government Degree College (GDC) Kishtwar, in collaboration with 7 Assam Rifles, successfully organized an awareness program titled ‘Join Indian Army’ to educate students about career opportunities in the armed forces.

The event was held under the convenorship of ANO Prof. Prithvi Raj and CTO Dr. Tabassum Saleem, with guidance from Principal Prof. Basharat Iqbal. Major Akashdeep served as the resource person. Around 200 students participated, alongside faculty members Dr. Yasar Ahmed, Dr. Vijay Kumar, Prof. Waseem Rasheed, Mr. Parveen Kumar, and Mr. Inam.

Experts from 7 Assam Rifles provided insights into the selection process, eligibility criteria, and career prospects in the Indian Army. They also emphasized the values of discipline, patriotism, and leadership. An interactive session allowed students to engage directly with officers and clarify their queries.

Principal Prof. Basharat Iqbal lauded the efforts of the NCC unit and 7 Assam Rifles, stressing the importance of youth involvement in national defense. The program concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Tabassum Saleem, marking a successful initiative in fostering awareness and motivation among students.DD
