UDHAMPUR ,DD:In a tragic incident, a mother and son lost their lives in the Moungari tehsil of the Udhampur district in the late evening today when they were hit by a boulder while traveling.
Reports indicate that 52-year-old Shano Devi and her son Raghu were traveling from Lali to Moungari on Motorcycle when the accident happened close to the Thani area. A huge boulder rolled off the hillside and hit Motorcycle resulting , killing the mother on the spot while her son received critical injuries.
Locals who responded to the area soon after the accident immediately took both victims to the Moungari Primary Health Center (PHC). The medical team pronounced Shano Devi dead upon admission. Raghu died from the injuries in spite of the efforts to save him as he was undergoing treatment.
The victims are identified as Shano Devi aged 52 and wife of Badru and their son Raghu. Both bodies are kept at PHC Moungari for postmortem examination.
Police officials have taken notice of the incident and launched an investigation into the circumstances leading to the tragedy.DD
