BILLAWAR POLICE REGISTERS FIRST ZERO FIR IN THEFT CASE

KATHUA: DD, Police today claimed to have registered a first zero FIR against a person in a theft case in police station Billawar.
Police said that Geeta Devi, wife of Dass, resident of Ward No 04 Near Govt H.S School Billawar in District Kathua lodged a complaint against the accused person namely Paul Jone, son of Mate Raju, resident of Khattar Shani Tehsil Hiranagar for committing theft of her ATM and withdrawing an amount of 65000 approximately at Dasuya District Hoshiarpur Punjab when she has went to her parental home.
Therefore, Police Station Billawar registered a case.
During the inquiry, police said that it was found that the matter falls under the jurisdiction of Police Station Dasuya District Hoshiarpur State Punjab.
Accordingly Zero FIR U/S 303(2)/318(2) BNS has been registered at Police Station Billawar and the FIR will be forwarded to the concerned Police Station for further necessary action.
The Zero FIR registered is a crucial provision that allows anyone to report a crime at any police station, regardless of where the incident occurred.
In this case the FIR will be forwarded to the Concerned Police Station in Dasuya Hoshiarpur for further investigation.DD
