Kishtwar, DD: Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar, Rajesh Kumar Shavan conducted an extensive tour of Panchayats Mulchhiter, Rahalthal, and Dadpeth in Block Mughalmaidan to review the progress of MGNREGA and Rural Development Department (RDD) works.During the visit, the DC inspected key infrastructure projects, including soakage pits, tile works, drainage systems, and walking paths being developed under MGNREGA. He also assessed other developmental initiatives underway in these panchayats.While inspecting the works, cases of false attendance under MGNREGA were detected. Taking strict action, the DC ordered the immediate suspension of two erring employees and also directed the termination of the concerned mate. He emphasized that all officials must ensure the genuineness of attendance, work quality, and transparency in execution. He warned that any negligence or malpractice would result in strict disciplinary action.Stressing the importance of timely completion and quality assurance, DC Kishtwar instructed ACD Kishtwar and the concerned BDO to ensure that all ongoing projects are completed within the stipulated timeframe for the financial year 2024-25, adhering strictly to prescribed quality standards. He also directed the officials to expedite and streamline project execution for better developmental outcomes.During his visit, DC Kishtwar interacted with Job Card holders and MGNREGA beneficiaries to understand their work experiences, wage disbursements, and any challenges they faced. He reassured them of the government’s commitment to timely wage payments and enhanced job opportunities. He also encouraged them to actively participate in developmental activities and assured prompt grievance redressal to improve livelihood opportunities in the region.The DC was accompanied by ACD Kishtwar, Phulail Singh and other officials of the Rural Development Department.
