Family stages protest, block Jammu-Pathankot highway at Palli Nagar & Langate Morh

KATHUA, DD: A young girl today lost her life, when she was hit by a dumper in Kathua, triggering a protest demonstration by the family members.
As per the reports, the college going girl was hit by a rashly driven dumper on the road at Palli Nagar Marg near Nehalpur.
In this road mishap, the reports revealed that the girl was critically wounded.
The injured were evacuated to the GMC Kathua where the doctors pronounced her dead. The situation turned tense as family members and relatives became aggressive and blocked the highway Palli Nagar Marg near Nehalpur.
They placed rocks in the middle of the road and disrupted the vehicular traffic though police attempted to convince them twice.
Sensing trouble, senior police officers also rushed to the spot, and they convinced the aggrieved family that appropriate legal action will be taken against the accused.
Later, the situation was brought to control, and the vehicular traffic was restored.
Meanwhile, another person lost his life, when he was hit by an unknown vehicle at Langate Morh in Kathua.
The angry protesters have blocked the highway at Langate Morh.
“The protesters have kept the body of the deceased person in the road, and blocked the road, seeking arrest of the accused person,” the eyewitnesses said. Till the filing of this report, the protest was going on.DD
