District Legal Services Authority Kargil organises 1st National Lok Adalat

Kargil, DD: As per the directions of the Ladakh Legal Services Authority, the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Kargil organized the 1st National Lok Adalat on March 8, 2025.

Five benches were constituted for different kinds of cases pending in the courts like criminal compoundable matters, cases u/s 138 NI Act, MACT cases, bank recovery cases, Matrimonial disputes and other civil cases etc. at district headquarter.

The first bench was presided over by Spalzes Angmo, Ld. Chairman DLSA/PDSJ Kargil, the second bench was presided over by Wangial Tsering, Ld. CJM Kargil, the third bench was presided over by Chemit Yurgyal, Ld. Secretary DLSA Kargil, the fourth bench was presided over by Deldan Angmo, Ld. Chairman TLSC Sankoo and the fifth bench was presided Sadiq Ali Wazir, Ld. Chairman TLSC Drass, also conducted the 1st National Lok Adalat 2025.

A total of 244 cases were referred to the National Lok Adalat, out of which 221 cases were successfully disposed of. As a result, an amount of Rs 80,76,603 was recovered as settlement, while Rs 31,050 was collected as fines. DD
