J&K Govt Constructs 1.35 Lakh Houses Under PMAY-G in Two Years

Jammu,(DD): The Jammu and Kashmir government has announced the completion of 135,925 houses under the Pradhan Mantri Awaas Yojana-Gramin (PMAY-G) over the past two years.

Responding to a query by MLA Arjun Gupta, the Minister for Rural Development and Panchayati Raj stated that since the SECC 2011 and AwaasPlus databases have been fully utilized, no new targets have been set for the 2024-25 financial year. However, a spillover target of 140,021 houses from previous phases is scheduled for completion this year.

Breaking down the construction figures, 109,412 houses were built in Jammu Division, while 26,513 houses were completed in Kashmir Division.

The government’s focus remains on clearing the backlog and ensuring timely implementation of the scheme across the Union Territory.(DD)
