Kishtwar, DD, The Department of Handicrafts Kishtwar successfully organized an Artisans Interaction Programme at Poochal, Kishtwar, with the aim of reaching out to more artisans and registering them with the department to enable them to avail various welfare benefits and schemes.
The program was led by Assistant Director Handicrafts Kishtwar, Pardeep Shan, JKAS, who briefed the attendees on the rich craft heritage of Kishtwar. He highlighted the various training programs and the departmental schemes available, including the Credit Card Scheme for artisans, financial support opportunities, and educational scholarships for the children of artisans.
During the program, informational pamphlets outlining the departmental schemes and opportunities for artisans were distributed to all participants, ensuring that they were well-informed about the support available to them.
This event was a part of the ongoing efforts by the Department of Handicrafts Kishtwar to promote the region’s handicrafts and provide valuable support to local artisans in the area.
The event was also graced by the presence of key figures, including Supervisor INDUSCO, Abid, Instructor of Crewel Center, Farooq G, and the President of Chinar Crewel Industrial Cooperative Society, Smt. Nirmala Devi.DD
