Srinagar Police Introduces QR-Based Accountability and Feedback System

Diplomat Correspondent

Srinagar, (DD): In a move aimed at enhancing transparency and public engagement, Srinagar Police has introduced a QR code-based accountability and feedback system across all police stations in the district. The initiative allows residents to share their experiences, provide feedback, and suggest improvements in policing.

Speaking at an awareness program on New Criminal Laws, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Srinagar, Imtiyaz Hussain, emphasized that the system would help bridge the gap between the police and the public. He assured that necessary changes would be implemented based on the feedback received.

Highlighting the importance of maintaining peace in Kashmir, the SSP stated that the region has seen immense sacrifices over the past 35 years due to terrorism and other challenges. He credited the efforts of the central government, J&K administration, police, and locals for creating an atmosphere of stability. “Now, it is the responsibility of everyone to protect this peace,” he added.

He also reiterated the government’s commitment to ensuring “free and fast justice” through the implementation of New Criminal Laws, holding the police, judiciary, and prosecution accountable for fair and efficient legal proceedings.

The new QR-based system is expected to improve accountability within the police force while giving citizens a direct platform to voice their concerns.(DD)
