JKLFC Organizes Mega Loan Mela and Awareness Camp on NMDFC Loan Schemes in Kishtwar

Kishtwar, DD, In a major initiative to promote economic empowerment among minority communities, the Jammu Kashmir and Ladakh Finance Corporation (JKLFC), in collaboration with the National Minorities Development and Finance Corporation (NMDFC), organized a Mega Loan Mela cum Awareness Camp in Kishtwar.

The event, held at the Conference Hall, was inaugurated by Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kishtwar, Rajesh Kumar Shavan, who attended as the Chief Guest. The program commenced with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp, symbolizing the beginning of the awareness drive.

Empowering Entrepreneurs & Youth

Over 100 participants, including aspiring entrepreneurs, youth, and local residents, attended the event to gain insights into the various financial assistance programs available under NMDFC’s loan schemes.

Speaking at the event, Ahzaz Ahmed Shah, District Manager, JKLFC (Doda/Udhampur), welcomed the attendees and provided an overview of the Corporation’s loan offerings. Sh. Vinod Chouhan, District Coordinator, JKLFC, elaborated on eligibility criteria and the application process, ensuring clarity on how beneficiaries could avail these opportunities.

DC Kishtwar Encourages Youth Participation

Addressing the gathering, DC Kishtwar Sh. Rajesh Kumar Shavan emphasized the pivotal role of such financial schemes in fostering self-reliance and economic development. He particularly urged youth, especially girls, to take advantage of centrally sponsored initiatives, including Mission Yuva, Agriculture, KVIB, Horticulture, Fisheries, and Handicrafts, to build sustainable careers and businesses.

“The administration is committed to supporting aspiring entrepreneurs and marginalized communities in accessing these financial benefits. These schemes offer an excellent opportunity for youth to become self-reliant and contribute to the economic growth of the region,” he stated.

Interactive Q&A Session

The event concluded with an interactive Question & Answer session, where Sh. Ahzaz Ahmed Shah addressed various queries regarding loan facilities and provided further clarifications.

The Mega Loan Mela served as a crucial platform for disseminating information about financial assistance programs aimed at fostering entrepreneurship and self-employment among minority communities. JKLFC assured continued efforts in creating awareness and facilitating access to these schemes for the people of Kishtwar.
