Kishtwar, (DD): The Kishtwar-Sinthan National Highway has been reopened for one-way traffic for light vehicles, providing a crucial link between Kishtwar and Kashmir. The decision comes after an extended closure due to harsh winter conditions.

According to the National Highways and Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (NHIDCL), traffic will be allowed from Kishtwar to Kashmir today between 11:00 AM and 2:00 PM. To manage vehicular movement efficiently, a one-way system will be followed on alternate days.

Traffic Guidelines for Commuters

Authorities have issued specific instructions to ensure a smooth and safe travel experience:

Vehicles will not be permitted to cross the Parna Check Post (Chingam) after 2:00 PM.

All commuters must strictly adhere to traffic regulations.

Travellers are urged to check road conditions before planning their journey.

Officials have directed the local administration in Chatroo to enforce these guidelines and ensure compliance.

The reopening of the highway is expected to provide much-needed relief to residents and travellers, restoring connectivity between Kishtwar and Anantnag after months of disruption. However, commuters have been advised to remain cautious and stay updated on further announcements regarding road conditions.(DD)
