Srinagar,(DD): The Meteorological Department has predicted a spell of rain and snow across Jammu and Kashmir next week, advising travelers and farmers to stay informed about changing weather conditions.
According to a MeT official, North Kashmir and the Sonamarg-Zojila axis may see light rain or snow in the higher reaches today, while the overall weather is expected to remain dry from April 4 to April 7. However, some areas could experience thunderstorms and gusty winds (30-40 km/h) later in the day.
From April 8 onward, cloud cover will increase, with a chance of light snowfall over higher altitudes in North Kashmir and Sonamarg. The wet spell will peak between April 9 and 10, bringing light rain and snow to most parts of Kashmir and some areas in Jammu.
On April 11, isolated showers and snowfall may occur in the morning, followed by an improvement in weather conditions.
The MeT department has urged travelers and transporters to follow official traffic advisories, while farmers are advised to continue their agricultural activities as conditions remain favorable for now.(DD)
