Cyber Police Kashmir Shuts Down 200 Social Media Handles Promoting Terror Propaganda

Diplomat Correspondent

Srinagar, (DD): In a decisive move against online extremism, Cyber Police Kashmir has intensified its crackdown on digital platforms, blocking over 200 social media handles involved in spreading terror propaganda, misinformation, and anti-national content over the past three months.

Many of these accounts were found to be operated from outside India, with 100 traced to foreign locations. Security agencies have taken stringent measures, blocking several accounts and initiating legal action against key propagators, including multiple FIRs under relevant criminal laws.

Cyber Police Kashmir has also launched de-radicalization efforts, counseling individuals influenced by extremist content and handing them over to their families.

Authorities urge citizens to remain vigilant and report suspicious online activities to prevent the misuse of cyberspace for extremist purposes. The Jammu and Kashmir Police reaffirm their commitment to maintaining digital and national security.(DD)
