Kargil, DD: International Taekwondo Player and State Awardee Shahnaz Parveen called upon Deputy Commissioner Kargil, Shrikant Suse at his office in Baroo, Kargil, following her selection for prestigious World University Championship scheduled to be held in Germany.
DC Kargil congratulated Parveen on her exceptional achievement of being the only Women Player from UT Ladakh to be selected for this prestigious championship for the second time and assured her of all possible support from the District Administration. He commended her hard work and determination in representing Kargil, the Union Territory of Ladakh, and the nation at an international level.
During the meeting, Parveen expressed her gratitude to DC Kargil for his visionary approach toward promoting sports in the region.
She highlighted the financial challenges faced by aspiring athletes from Kargil. She requested sustained support for players who lack financial backing yet continue to bring laurels to UT Ladakh and India.
Later, Shahnaz Parveen also met with the Joint Director, Sports, UT Ladakh, Tahir Hussain Zubdavi, at his office at Council Secretariat, Kargil. She conveyed her heartfelt thanks for his continuous encouragement and appreciated the efforts of Department of Youth Services and Sports, UT Ladakh, in supporting her journey and promoting sports across the region.DD
