Ramban, (DD)In a major development aimed at cracking down on terror-related activities, Jammu and Kashmir Police have seized approximately 1.25 hectares of land in the Gool area of Ramban district. The seizure was carried out under the provisions of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA), which empowers authorities to take action against properties linked to individuals involved in unlawful or anti-national activities.

According to officials, the land belonged to an individual who is allegedly connected to a banned terrorist organisation and has been under investigation for his involvement in activities that pose a threat to national security. Acting on credible intelligence and following due legal process, the police identified the land as being used directly or indirectly in support of such activities.

A police spokesperson confirmed the action, stating, “The land was seized as per the provisions of Section 33 of the UAPA. It is part of the administration’s wider efforts to disrupt the financial and logistical networks supporting terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir.”

The seizure was executed in coordination with the revenue authorities, and the property has now been formally recorded as confiscated by the district administration. Warning boards have be2en installed at the site, clearly marking the land as seized under anti-terror laws.

Local sources said the action has sent a strong message in the area, with the public largely supporting efforts to root out extremism. Police have reiterated their commitment to maintaining peace and order in the region, stating that any assets found to be supporting or benefiting terrorism will be dealt with strictly under the law.

This latest seizure is part of a series of operations in recent months targeting properties associated with terror operatives, particularly in the Chenab Valley and Pir Panjal regions, where authorities have intensified monitoring and enforcement.

The administration has urged the public to report any suspicious activity or properties being used for unlawful purposes, assuring complete confidentiality and protection for informants(DD)
