Srinagar, (DD): Union Home Minister Amit Shah arrived in Srinagar on Monday evening as part of his three-day visit to Jammu and Kashmir. He was welcomed at the Srinagar Airport by Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha and Chief Minister Omar Abdullah.

Upon his arrival, Shah visited the Humhama residence of Deputy Superintendent of Police Humayun Muzamil to extend condolences to the family. The 32-year-old officer was martyred during an anti-terror operation in Kokernag, South Kashmir, on September 13, 2023.

As per official sources, the Home Minister will hold a series of high-level meetings at Raj Bhawan this evening. On Tuesday, he is scheduled to chair a crucial review session on developmental projects at 11:00 AM, followed by a comprehensive security meeting involving senior officials from the J&K Police, Army, CAPFs, intelligence agencies, and the Union Home Ministry, including Home Secretary Govind Mohan.

During his stay, Shah is also expected to meet civil society members and various delegations from across the Valley to review grassroots-level feedback and development concerns.

The visit comes a day after Shah toured Jammu, where he chaired key meetings and visited the BSF’s ‘Vinay’ border outpost in Kathua to interact with personnel stationed along the International Border.(DD)
