Kathua, DD, In a major step toward curbing the drug menace, the Kathua Police destroyed approximately 2,500 kilograms of narcotic substances, valued at around Rs 3.5 crore, during a special disposal operation conducted at Anmol Healthcare, Vijaypur.
The destroyed contraband was linked to multiple narcotics cases registered in the Kathua district over the past several months. The disposal process was carried out under strict official supervision, ensuring safety and adherence to legal protocols.
Senior police officials were present at the site to oversee the operation, underlining the department’s commitment to transparency and accountability.
“This action reinforces our resolve to root out the drug trade from the region and protect our communities from its harmful impact,” a senior police official stated.
The operation marks a significant milestone in the ongoing efforts to combat drug trafficking in Jammu and Kashmir.(DD)
