Leh,TDD,A workshop on Chinese language is being conducted with effect from 23-25 Sep 2024 under the aegis of HQ Northern Command, Fire and Fury Corps to synergise the efforts in Chinese language training being imparted at all levels and to generate ideas to optimise the employment/ utility of available Chinese interpretation and translation resources.
Due to the peculiar situation along our Northern Borders, a greater impetus is being laid on Chinese language training and employment of Chinese language qualified persons. The workshop aims to evaluate the language training being carried out & identify gaps in training mechanisms.
Senior officials from the Indian Army and Asst Prof, Chinese Studies and Language, University of Ladakh will contribute as subject matter experts. Lt Gen Hitesh Bhalla, SC**, SM, VSM, General Officer Commanding of the Fire and Fury Corps, inaugurated the workshop on 23 Sep 2024.
Lt Gen MV Suchindra Kumar, PVSM, AVSM, YSM**, VSM, the GOC-in-C, Northern Command will address the participants on 25 Sep 2024 which further underscores the importance being attached to developing and harnessing Mandarin language skills in the Indian Army.TDD
