Udhampur, DD:- Udhampur witnessed a total shutdown on Wednesday as a sign of protest against the dastardly terrorist attack on tourists in Pahalgam, which resulted in the death of 26 innocent individuals. The call for bandh was issued by Bapyour Mandal Udhampur, along with other social bodies, seeking justice for the victims and denouncing the act of terror.
The shops, business houses, and schools were closed, and public transport remained off the roads in support of the families of the victims. Official heavy deployment was made in major pockets of Udhampur district to avoid any unwanted incidents during the protest.
Police and paramilitary forces made rigorous patrolling in sensitive areas like markets and major intersections to ensure law and order.DD
