New Delhi, (DD): In a significant move to support students from Jammu and Kashmir studying in various parts of the country, the Jammu and Kashmir Resident Commission in New Delhi has established a dedicated 24/7 helpline.

According to an official communiqué, the helpline aims to offer timely assistance to J&K students residing outside the Union Territory for education or other purposes. The initiative comes amid increasing concerns over student welfare, especially during emergencies or distress situations.

The helpline numbers provided by the Resident Commission are as follows:

“The above-mentioned numbers shall remain operational round-the-clock for any kind of assistance,” the communiqué stated.

This initiative is expected to enhance the safety net for J&K students, providing them with a direct line of contact for help with accommodation, emergencies, or official matters.

The move has been welcomed by student communities and parents alike, who have long demanded better support structures for young people studying away from home (DD)
