Calls for relentless pursuit of perpetrators; reviews joint counter-terror strategy with top military brass

Srinagar, (DD): Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha today held a high-level security review meeting with Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi and senior military officials to discuss the security situation following the Pahalgam terror attack, which claimed 26 civilian lives.
During the meeting, LG Sinha called for decisive and relentless action against all those involved in the attack. “Every perpetrator and supporter of the Pahalgam terror attack, regardless of their location or affiliation, must be hunted down and made to pay a heavy price for this cowardly and barbaric act,” he said.
He stressed that the Army, police, and CAPFs must operate in close coordination to dismantle the terror infrastructure and its ecosystem, including overground workers (OGWs) and enablers. “The nation has full faith in the bravery and valour of our forces. We must pursue the entire chain behind the attack in a sustained and systematic manner,” he added.
The meeting also covered ongoing security mechanisms, future counter-terrorism strategies, and enhanced integration among security agencies.
Present in the review were GOC-in-C Northern Command Lt Gen MV Suchindra Kumar, Deputy Chief of Army Staff Lt Gen Pratik Sharma, and GOC 15 Corps Lt Gen Prashant Srivastava, alongside the Army Chief.(DD)
