Seminar on Gandhiji,s Vision for a Sustainable Future held at GCW Udhampur

UDHAMPUR, TDD, Government College for Women(GCW)Udhampur
today got underway Four- day program to commemorate Gandhi Jayanti
2024.

The event was organized by Cultural Committee of the college in
collaboration with the department of History .

The event started with the formal welcome of Principal of the
college, Dr. Nalini Pathania by convener cultural committee, Dr.Seema
Sharma HOD Music. In her opening remarks worthy principal of the
college appealed the students and staff to uphold the principal of the
teachings of mahatma Gandhi, Truth and Non-Violence in their daily
life.

        A seminar on the theme’ Gandhiji,s Vision for a

Sustainable Future, Where ten students of sem.3rd and 5th participated
and presented their views on the said topic in which Manvi of sem.I ,
Sumaiya Choudhary sem.II and Sneha of sem.III adjudged 1st ,2nd and
3rd respectively.

Dr.Pardeep singh, Dr. Sanjay Kalotra and Prof. Shama Rani acted as
judges in the event who were very fair and rational in their
judgement. The entire proceedings of the event were convened by the
Ayushi Gupta of sem. 3rd on this occasion.

Prof. Yash Paul HOD History while presenting his views remarked that
Gandhi Jayanti as national festival honouring the nation’s greatest
hero, who battled for millions of people’s rights and liberated india
from the foreign empire.

The formal vote of thanks on this occasion was presented by Prof. Yash
Kumar from department of Music. as many as 100 students and staff
members attended the event.TDD
