Jammu,(DD):Lieutenant General Pratik Sharma today assumed command of the Udhampur-based Northern Army Command, succeeding Lt Gen MV Suchendra Kumar, who retires today after a distinguished 15-month tenure.
According to officials, Lt Gen Sharma brings with him over 30 years of decorated military service. An infantry officer by background, he has operated in diverse and challenging environments and played a pivotal role in major military operations including Operation Pawan in Sri Lanka, Operation Meghdoot in Siachen, Operation Raksh(DD)
