“No One Will Be Spared,” Says Amit Shah on Pahalgam Terror Attack; Vows Swift Justice

New Delhi,(DD): In the wake of the recent terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pahalgam area, Union Home Minister Amit Shah has issued a strong statement, declaring that those responsible will be tracked down and punished without exception. “No one will be spared,” Shah asserted while addressing a high-level security meeting in New Delhi, signaling the government’s zero-tolerance stance on terrorism.

The terror attack, which occurred earlier this week in the picturesque Pahalgam region—a popular destination for tourists and pilgrims—targeted a patrol of security personnel. While the exact number of casualties is yet to be officially confirmed, initial reports suggest that a few soldiers sustained injuries, and a massive combing operation has since been launched in the surrounding areas.

Amit Shah expressed deep anguish over the incident and conveyed condolences to the injured personnel and their families. He reviewed the security situation with top officials from the Ministry of Home Affairs, the Intelligence Bureau, the CRPF, and the Jammu and Kashmir Police. The Home Minister instructed agencies to intensify intelligence operations, tighten surveillance, and expedite counter-terror missions across South Kashmir.

“The safety of our citizens and security forces is our topmost priority. Those behind this cowardly attack, and anyone who provides them support, will face the full force of the law,” Shah said. He also commended the prompt response of the security forces, who engaged the attackers and are continuing search operations in the forested areas of the Anantnag-Pahalgam belt.

Officials believe the attack may have been carried out by a local module with logistical support from across the border. Electronic surveillance, including drone monitoring and mobile intercepts, has been activated to trace the movement of suspected militants.

Political leaders across party lines have condemned the attack, while locals in Pahalgam have expressed concern over its implications for the upcoming tourist season and Amarnath Yatra.

The Pahalgam incident is the latest in a series of targeted attacks aimed at destabilizing the fragile peace in Kashmir. However, the Home Ministry maintains that the security grid remains robust and that militancy has seen a sharp decline over the last few years due to consistent pressure on terrorist networks (DD)
