JAMMU :-TDD,The second phase of polling in Jammu and Kashmir witnessed a voter turnout of 36.93% by 1 PM across 26 assembly constituencies in six districts, according to the Chief Electoral Officer’s office. Gulabgarh (ST) emerged as the frontrunner with an impressive 53.94% turnout, setting the pace for a day of varied participation. Close behind were Poonch Haveli and Surankote (ST), recording 51.57% and 50.96% respectively. The constituencies of Reasi and Shri Mata Vaishno Devi also saw strong engagement, with turnouts exceeding 49%. Several areas, including Thannamandi (ST), Budhal (ST), and Rajouri (ST), demonstrated robust civic participation with turnouts above 47%. While many constituencies showed encouraging numbers, with multiple areas surpassing the 45% mark, the region’s overall average was tempered by lower turnouts in some areas. Notably, Habbakadal recorded the day’s lowest participation at 11.14%, highlighting the stark contrasts in voter engagement across the region. As the polling continues, election officials are closely monitoring the process, with the final turnout expected to provide crucial insights into the political landscape of Jammu and Kashmir.TDD
