Pakistan Launches Coordinated Air Offensive; Indian Bases, Civil Infrastructure Hit: Col. Sofiya Qureshi

By Staff Reporter

New Delhi , May 10 (DD In a grave escalation of hostilities, Pakistan has launched a widespread aerial offensive across India’s western sector, targeting over two dozen military and civilian locations, according to a high-level briefing by Colonel Sofiya Qureshi.

Speaking to reporters Col. Qureshi said Pakistan has used a combination of armed drones, loitering munitions, long-range missiles, and even fighter jets in a deliberate attempt to destabilize Indian defence infrastructure.

“The Pakistani Army has systematically attacked India’s western borders, launching aerial intrusions at more than 26 locations,” she said. “These attacks have not only caused damage to military installations but have also targeted civilian infrastructure, including healthcare facilities and schools, in a clear violation of international norms.”

According to officials, Indian Air Defence units successfully intercepted many threats. However, key air force stations including Udhampur, Bhuj, Pathankot, and Bathinda suffered damages. In one of the most alarming incidents, high-speed missiles were fired at an air base in Punjab at approximately 1:40 AM, causing destruction of equipment and injuries to personnel.

Col. Qureshi confirmed that India’s response has been swift, with immediate countermeasures deployed across air bases and border regions. “We have neutralized a significant number of incoming threats, but the pattern of attack indicates a coordinated attempt by Pakistan to disrupt our operational capability and endanger civilian lives.”

Security has been heightened at critical installations, including Srinagar Airport, Awantipora Air Base, and strategic locations along the Line of Control (LoC). Operation Sindoor, the codename for India’s defensive and counter-offensive posture, has been fully activated(DD)
