Arif Qurashi

RAJOURI,(DD)Jammu & Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Tuesday announced a series of relief measures for the victims of the recent cross-border shelling that claimed multiple lives and caused significant damage to residential areas.

While speaking to reporters after visiting the injured at a district hospital, the LG expressed grief over the loss of lives and assured the affected families of the government’s full support. “One member from each family that lost a loved one in the shelling will be provided with a government job,” Sinha said. He added that all damaged houses would be reconstructed as part of a comprehensive rehabilitation package, which will soon be announced by the Government of India.

“The injured are stable and recovering well. The administration is closely monitoring their condition and ensuring that they receive the best possible care,” the LG said, commending the swift response of medical teams and local authorities.

Sinha reiterated the government’s commitment to the safety and welfare of border residents, stating that additional measures would be taken to strengthen infrastructure and improve emergency response in vulnerable areas.

The announcement has brought a sense of relief to many grieving families and communities that have long faced the brunt of cross-border hostilities. Locals have welcomed the decision, urging swift implementation of the promised support.(DD)
