ADC Kargil Reviews Arrangements for UPSC Civil Services Preliminary Examination

Kargil, DD, Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Kargil, Imteeaz Kacho, who also serves as the Assistant Coordinating Supervisor for the Kargil Centre, today chaired a meeting to review and streamline preparations for the smooth conduct of the UPSC Civil Services Preliminary Examination 2025 in Kargil.

The meeting was convened in the chamber of the ADC in presence of Joint Director, UPSC, Subhash Chand; Headquarter Assistant to Deputy Commissioner; Accounts Officer to Deputy Commissioner; Deputy Superintendent of Police; Venue Supervisor (Principal), Government Girls’ Higher Secondary School, Kargil; Duty Magistrates; Assistant and Additional Supervisors of the Examination Centre, , Assistant Section Officer, UPSC as well as other concerned officials. At the outset, the ADC and the Accounts Officer welcomed the Joint Director and Assistant Section Officer of UPSC with khataqs.

During the deliberations, emphasis was laid on the comprehensive planning and coordination for the examination. Discussions included the roles and responsibilities of the Coordinating Supervisor, Venue Supervisors, Invigilators, Local Inspecting Officers, Police and Postal Departments. The Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) regarding candidate entry and exit, seating arrangements, secure storage and handling of sensitive material and deployment of security personnel at the examination venues were thoroughly reviewed.

ADC Imteeaz Kacho directed the Police Department to ensure adequate deployment of security and traffic personnel to manage vehicular movement smoothly on the day of examination. He also passed necessary instructions to the Municipal Committee regarding cleanliness of the venue and emphasized the need for making effective arrangements for drinking water and medical support to tackle any emergency.

The Joint Director, UPSC also spoke at length about the need for arrangements. While sharing his own experiences, he gave valuable inputs and suggestions to the Magistrates and Venue Supervisors about conducting the examination effectively. He also replied to a number of important queries of the participants.

Later, the participants of the meeting led by the ADC, visited the Strong Room in DC Office to assess and inspect the security arrangements put in place for storing/securing the sensitive examination material.DD
