CEC Leh Visits Ashoka Mission Delhi; Reviews Welfare Activities

Leh, DD,Hon’ble Chairman/Chief Executive Councillor, LAHDC Leh, Adv. Tashi Gyalson, visited Ashoka Mission in New Delhi along with a delegation of senior leaders and religious representatives to review ongoing welfare activities.

The delegation included Former Member of Parliament and President Ashoka Mission, Thupstan Chhewang; President, Ladakh Buddhist Association, Tsering Dorjey Lakrook; Outgoing President, Ladakh Gonpa Association, Ven. Tsering Angdus; Newly elected President, LGA, Ven. Dorje Stanzin; President, Anjuman Moin-ul-Islam, Dr. Abdul Qayoom; and President, Anjuman Imamia Leh, Ashraf Ali Barcha.

General Secretary, Ashoka Mission Delhi, Tashi Motup Kau along executive members of Ashoka Mission and LGA were also present.

The delegation held a meeting to review the ongoing work of Ashoka Mission and its role in supporting underprivileged patients from Ladakh for medical treatment. They discussed the various ways in which the Ashoka Mission can be further strengthened.

They also inspected the residential unit being constructed by the LGA within the Mission campus to accommodate dedicated Temple incharge to perform daily prayers and rituals. The facility, which is nearing completion, is expected to offer much-needed support to the patients, particularly monks and nuns during the course of treatment.

As part of its continued support, LAHDC Leh extended a financial grant of ₹20 lakh to Ashoka Mission. The CEC appreciated the Mission’s consistent efforts in assisting unprivileged patients and in facilitating access to quality healthcare through institutions such as AIIMS and other major hospitals in the capital.DD
