3 soldiers, one policeman injured in Kulgam encounter, Ops on: IGP Kashmir

Srinagar, Sep 28 (TDD) Inspector General of Police (IGP) Kashmir V K Birdhi Saturday said that four security forces personnel including three soldiers and a policeman were injured in the ongoing encounter at Adigam, Devsar in South Kashmir’s Kulgam district.Talking to reporters here, IGP Kashmir said acting on a specific information yesterday, police and army laid a siege and started search operation in Adigam area of Devsar. “As the joint teams zeroed in on the suspected spot, they were fired upoun by the terrorists early this morning,” he said.Asked about the injuries to security forces, the IGP said that four security forces personnel including three soldiers and a police man sustained injuries in the initial exchange of firing. “The policeman has received minor injuries and is stable,” he said.The IGP said that it is believed that one to two terrorists are hiding in a house. “The operation is underway and things will be cleared once the operation is over,” he said (TDD)
