Kupwara,(DD):Advisor to the Chief Minister, Nasir Aslam Wani, on Saturday reaffirmed the government’s commitment to reviving Jammu and Kashmir’s tourism sector, stating that Chief Minister Omar Abdullah is personally overseeing efforts to restore the region’s appeal to visitors.

Speaking to reporters after a high-level review meeting in Kupwara, the Advisor said that the administration is taking every possible step to rebuild trust and confidence among tourists.

“The tourism sector will bounce back soon. The Chief Minister himself is actively involved, conducting visits to key tourist locations and engaging with stakeholders,” Nasir said.

He noted that confidence-building measures are already yielding positive results, and expressed optimism about a rise in tourist footfall in the near future. “The sector will soon be back on track,” he added.

Responding to questions about the government’s promise of free electricity units for AAY category households, the Advisor confirmed that the process has already begun. “Implementation is underway and benefits will soon reach the intended beneficiaries,” he said.

He also stated that sectors like Health, Education, Roads, and Sports were thoroughly reviewed during the meeting. “We are committed to visible development on the ground across all key sectors,” he emphasized.(DD)
