Amit chairs IYC 2025 Mizoram Raj Bhavan Event Meeting

Aizawl, Mizoram, DD, Amit Sharma, Secretary to Government, Cooperation & ICT Departments, Mizoram today chaired a crucial meeting with all stakeholders including heads of all Apex Cooperative Bodies in Civil Secretariat for holding a a very special event at the Raj Bhavan Mizoram as a part of the ongoing celebrations of International Year of Cooperatives (IYC), 2025, as declared by United Nations, with the theme “Cooperatives Build a Better World” as it shall be the best platform towards creating mass awareness about Cooperative Movement in Mizoram, in the august presence of the Constitutional Head of the state.

Secretary Cooperation, Amit Sharma at the outset of meeting told Registrar Cooperative Societies (RCS), Mizoram John L.T Sanga, NABARD head Pankaja Borah, Chairpersons of Apex Cooperative Federations of the state to jointly take a lead in making upcoming event under IYC-2025 celebrations, a memorable one at Raj Bhavan which shall be led by Hon’ble Governor of Mizoram, in the presence of Cooperatives Minister and lot of other dignitaries.

Amit, during his address, disclosed that a Selection Committee has been constituted under RCS and his team to select best Cooperative initiatives, from amongst different federations, covering almost all districts of Mizoram and not concentrated, primarily in Aizawl alone, so that every nook & corner of state gets equivalent chance of displaying its proactive work in Cooperative Sector which shall get duly felicitated by the highest authority of the state in this upcoming event at Raj Bhavan.

It was also divulged by RCS in the meeting that best Cooperative initiatives in this sector covering All Womens’ Federation, Handloom, Handicrafts, Agriculture, Milk Production, etc shall be given an opportunity of sharing their initiatives and displaying their stalls and also holding a small interaction with dignitaries during this special event to be held at Raj Bhavan, Mizoram.

Secretary Cooperation Amit Sharma also appreciated the idea of saplings plantation by the Hon’ble Governor, Cooperatives Minister and the visiting dignitaries, as a part of campaign ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ inside the Raj Bhavan lawns, as a memoir of the celebration of International Year of Cooperation-2025 exclusive event to be held here. He further suggested that best performing PACS and State-level Cooperative Federations shall also be given due recognition during this upcoming event.

Amit Sharma also shared before culmination of this meeting that many such events such as exhibitions of Cooperative products, debates, seminars, felicitation and giving incentives to promising Cooperatives have been planned which shall be the highlight of the ongoing celebrations of IYC-2025 and the same shall be organised in the coming months all through the year.DD
