Srinagar,(DD) The Meteorological Department has forecast continued hot and dry weather across Jammu and Kashmir over the next three days, with a slight respite expected from June 14 onwards.
Director of the Meteorological Department, Dr. Mukhtar Ahmad, said that from June 11 to 13, the Union Territory will experience generally hot and dry conditions. “Between June 14 and 17, there is a chance of light rain or thundershowers at isolated to scattered locations, which may be accompanied by thunder and gusty winds,” he said.
A heatwave advisory has been issued, warning of severe heat conditions at multiple places during this period.
Health Advisory for the Public:
Stay indoors during peak heat hours (12 noon to 4 PM)
Stay hydrated by drinking plenty of fluids
Avoid outdoor exertion or heavy physical activity during the hottest parts of the day
Meanwhile, farmers have been advised to continue regular agricultural operations despite the dry spell.
The warning follows a noticeable rise in daytime temperatures across the region, with many areas recording above-normal maximum temperatures.(DD)
