The order was issued by the Excise and Taxation Department under Office Order No. 102-JAdm of 2025 dated 12 June 2025, following the transfer of Shri Pardeep Singh, JKAS, as per Government Order No. 686-JK(GAD) of 2025 dated 10 June 2025.
As per the order, Ajeet Kumar will discharge the additional responsibilities at Lakhanpur “in addition to his own duties” until a full-time replacement is appointed by the government.
Widely regarded as a dedicated and result-oriented officer, Ajeet Kumar has earned appreciation within the department for his professional commitment and efficient enforcement practices. His dual charge of both Samba and Kathua zones—a critical entry point for commercial goods into Jammu and Kashmir—underscores the government’s confidence in his administrative capabilities.
Officials expressed hope that under Kumar’s stewardship, enforcement mechanisms at Lakhanpur will remain streamlined and effective.
The order has been circulated to the Principal Secretary of the Finance Department, the Additional Commissioner of State Taxes, and other relevant offices for implementation.(DD)
