Leh, June 12: The Hon’ble Chairman/CEC of LAHDC Leh, Adv. Tashi Gyalson, met today with Shri Vikas Kumar, IPS, SSP Traffic and In-charge DIG Leh-Kargil Range, UT-Ladakh, who has recently joined his new posting. The meeting focused on addressing the growing traffic issues in the Leh market area.
Hon’ble CEC highlighted the urgent need to improve traffic management to ease congestion in the busy market stretch, which has become increasingly crowded and challenging for both residents and visitors.
Also present were the President of the Merchant Association, Sh. Tsering Angchuk, and Cashier, Sh. Ishey Tashi. On the Association’s request, it was decided that the traffic cones and barricades placed along the roadside will be temporarily removed on a trial basis starting this Saturday. The aim is to observe whether relaxing these restrictions can help ease traffic flow and reduce congestion in the area. DD
