J&K Gears Up for 5th National Chief Secretaries’ Conference; Nodal Officers Appointed for Key Education and Youth Themes

In preparation for the 5th National Conference of Chief Secretaries scheduled for November 2025, the Jammu and Kashmir administration has nominated nodal departments and designated senior officers

Srinagar, (DD): In preparation for the 5th National Conference of Chief Secretaries scheduled for November 2025, the Jammu and Kashmir administration has nominated nodal departments and designated senior officers to lead five key thematic areas aimed at policy formulation and development planning.

According to a government order, the ident ified focus areas include:

  1. Early Childhood Education – Laying the Foundation
  2. Schooling – Building Blocks
  3. Skilling – Future-Ready Workforce
  4. Higher Education – Knowledge Economy
  5. Sports and Extracurriculars – Beyond Classrooms

To oversee the preparation of Jammu and Kashmir’s inputs for each theme, the following departments have been assigned as nodal agencies along with their respective administrative secretaries:

Social Welfare Department for Early Childhood Education

School Education Department for Schooling

Skill Development Department for Skilling

Higher Education Department for Higher Education

Youth Services & Sports Department for Sports and Extracurriculars

The nominated officers have been tasked with preparing theme-specific policy notes and feedback reports tailored to the Union Territory’s context. These documents are to be uploaded to the central portal within the set deadlines, contributing to the national discourse during the conference.

This initiative aims to streamline sectoral planning and ensure J&K’s active participation in shaping forward-looking policy frameworks at the national level.(DD)
