West Bengal Man Found Dead in Srinagar, Police Begin Investigation

Srinagar, (DD): A 30-year-old man hailing from West Bengal was found dead under suspicious circumstances in Srinagar on Thursday, prompting police to initiate an investigation.

According to officials, the man—identified as Pallab Maji, son of Manto Maj—was found unconscious near Hari Singh High Street, where he was employed as a jeweller. He was immediately shifted to SMHS Hospital, but doctors pronounced him dead on arrival.

Authorities have launched a formal probe to determine the cause of death. “The matter is being thoroughly investigated and all angles are being looked into,” an official said.

The body has been taken for post-mortem, and police have registered the case for further proceedings(DD)
