State-Level Pencak Silat Championship-cum-Trial for 9th Federation Cup 2025 in collaboration with District Youth Service s and Sports Successfully Held in Leh

Leh, DD: The Ladakh Pencak Silat Association successfully organized the State-Level Pencak Silat Championship-cum-Trial in Leh, as part of the selection process for the upcoming 9th Federation Cup 2025, which is scheduled to be held in Leh from 2nd to 4th August 2025. This prestigious national event is expected to host over 500 athletes from all over India.

In the state championship, around 90 students from various schools and institutes across Leh participated with remarkable spirit and sportsmanship. The event served as a crucial selection platform, and many skilled players have been shortlisted to represent Ladakh in the 9th Federation Cup. As per the organizers and coaches, a training camp will soon be launched for the selected athletes, where around 50 athletes, Senior, Junior Men, Women, from Leh and Kargil will receive intensive preparation.

After tallying all the results, Druk Padma Karpo School emerged as the overall winner of the championship with an impressive 20 medals, while Islamia Public School secured the runner-up position with 12 medals.

The event was honored by the presence of Chief Guest Shri Tsering Tashi, Youth Services and Sports Officer, as well as principals and representatives from notable institutions such as Delhi Public School Leh, Druk Padma Karpo School, and Islamic Public School, whose participation and support significantly contributed to the event’s success.

In addition to this championship, the Association has also announced two major upcoming events:

The Khelo India Women’s League, to be held in July 2025, focused on empowering and encouraging female athletes in the region.

A second selection trial for the 9th Federation Cup, scheduled for July 2025, to give more students the opportunity to participate at the national level.

The Ladakh Pencak Silat Association expresses its heartfelt gratitude to all participants, schools, coaches, and dignitaries for making the event a grand success. With such enthusiasm and talent, Ladakh is set to become a strong presence in the national martial arts arena.DD
