Leh,DD, International Yoga Day was celebrated under the aegis of Fire and Fury Corps at Col Sonam Wangchuk Stadium, Leh aligned to the theme of the year ‘Yoga for One Earth One Health’.
Yoga embodies unity of mind and body, through action restraint and fulfillment, harmony between man and nature, a holistic approach to health and well-being.
As part of the event, Lt Gen Hitesh Bhalla, GOC, Fire and Fury Corps along with 2000 Army Troops, 100 NCC Cadets and 100 school children participated in the yoga session.
The yoga session highlights the growing importance of yoga in building physical stamina and mental well-being, especially in challenging terrain, extreme climatic conditions of High-Altitude Area.
Yoga plays a vital role in enhancing mental clarity, stress resilience and muscular endurance.
Hence, to ensure long term benefits, yoga has been formally included in the regular physical training routine of the troops.
The incorporation of yoga in daily schedule aims to improve flexibility, stress management and overall combat readiness.
Participants practiced a range of Yogic Asanas such as Sukhasana, Vajrasana Tadasana and Konasana alongwith breathing techniques like Pranayama under the guidance of renewed Yoga Practitioners. The event was a reaffirmation of yoga’s integral role in maintaining holistic well-being for soldiers and citizens alike.DD
